REFRACTIVE ERROR
Refractive error is one of the most common ocular conditions affecting all age groups and a priority under the VISION 2020 initiative that was propounded to eliminate avoidable blindness in the world by 2020. Refractive errors are common conditions with high costs associated with their correction and a cause of public health and economic concerns. Myopia (short-sight) and hyperopia (long-sight) are the most common types of refractive error. Most REs can be easily corrected at the primary care level with spectacles. Uncorrected refractive error is a major public health challenge and is the leading cause of vision impairment and the second leading cause of blindness in India. Ayurveda treatment at Sudarshanam has shown to improve the quality of the vision and in many cases help reverse the error especially in children.
